I certainly do enjoy a good HumbleBeads charm. Heather Powers‘ tiny spring nest stands on it’s own amongst all the pretty amber and aqua beads. I am not a huge fan of incorporating wire into jewelry projects but I think I do like the idea a lot more after creating this set. I added wire around the nest so it would stay center when worn. I also like the contrasting wire color against the silver hoop and decided to use the same technique on the bottom of the hoop. For the bracelet, I already had the blue and amber linked bead strands in my stashed and thought they matched enough to go along with the necklace. So overall, used beads, humblebeads, wire wrapping and contrasting metals – seemed to work out pretty well.

My most recent design for the Vintaj Idea Gallery. Carved Hearts, designed for March 2012′s Forest Friends theme which was to incorporate blushy pinks and fresh greens.
Fresh greens and pretty pinks remind me of Spring! Slowly these colors fill the woods, a few brave birds sing away the winter blues, and small creatures come out of hiding. Heather’s woodland beads have always been some of my favorite and these pretty hearts are no exception! I knew I wanted to hang them both from a flattened branch and clustered with brass leaves and Czech glass. This asymmetrical design really shows off her beautiful pendants.
