Lalalalala, I love vacation! I took some much needed time off and hit the east coast and an ocean hiatus was exactly what I needed. Early sunrise over the water, swimming & sunbathing all day, good food & chill attitudes… exactly what I needed. We actually decided on a road trip kind of last minute, a 23 hour long road trip down to Cocoa Beach Florida, the east coast surf spot. It sounds kind of crazy but not only does driving save cash but I absolutely love road trips in more ways than one. Also the kids were awesome and handled the drive there and back really well. Now that I am back it is back to work, almost back to school and certainly back to designing. I was definitely inspired by the laid back atmosphere of Cocoa Beach when designing this style board and necklace.
The Jewelry: Oceanic
I wish I had this necklace when I was in Florida. Although I am not really a beach jewelry type of girl I think this long necklace is the perfect balance of my style and beach style. The sea urchin bead is from Humble Beads and the silver bezel locket holds a picture my love took on our California adventures some time ago. The locket also reminds me of a ships porthole, right? (the locket actually is reversible and I have another picture of just a wave on the backside, unfortunately I didn’t photograph it)

The Style: Hang Loose
I wish I had the items on this style board… oh wait I do! Yep it might be lame but this style board is based off of what I wore when I wasn’t in a swimming suit, everything but the necklace & camera. The Sanuk shoes were a Cocoa Beach purchase and I love them, super comfy. Don’t you think that necklace looks good hanging around those threads? I do!
1. Cut off jean shorts, hands down the best shorts ever.
2. Striped tank, boy cut. Mine is from old navy, pictured is from here. Goes with everything!
3. Soft Blue Hoodie for when the sun goes down.
4. Sanuk June Bug Sidewalk Sufers, your feet will love you.
5. Ladynoble necklace with my boo’s photography
6. Diana camera 35mm. I have wanted one for quite some time, long live film.

Love that necklace! I want to know about the locket, is it vintaj? Also, not to make you jealous or anything but I own an original Diana ;-) I have so much fun with it!
Of course you do Luanne! Um if you ever feel the need to get rid of it, I will gladly take it off your hands. Now the locket – it is actually from Bead Landing, pretty cool huh?! It is not Vintaj.
This is awesome Rose! I love that my bead gets to be part of your vacation memories – so sweet. The urchin is actually from one I picked up at one of my vacations on the Texas coast. Sea to shining sea. Happy Creating!
Sea to shining sea is right Thanks for sharing that Heather, it makes it even cooler.
Great necklace! Where’d the locket come from?
Thanks Ash! The locket is from Bead Landing, pretty neat huh? It comes in a few different shapes as well.
Love that necklace! I have an old locket and was stuck in the rut that I had to use photographs of people. duh. You’ve inspired me to use a photo of a fabulous sunset in the Bahamas!
Yay, lockets aren’t just for peoples faces or dried flowers anymore!
Wow – what a cool necklace and a great style board. Love it!
Thanks Stef!
