Well last week was Spring break and my last week to put things off. It is no secret that I am a procrastination station. When it comes to getting things done I always manage to wait to the last minute to complete them. The next few weeks are nothing but non-stop-craziness so it was nice to relax with the family over the weekend. We enjoyed some nice Spring Jacket weather, did a little yard work, watched plenty of NCAA Basketball, took a day trip to go see our nephew/cousin play baseball, and we ate a lot of burritos. My kids love burritos! Now that it’s Monday it is time to get down to business. Despite being busy with my day job, I also have the second Handmade City Show plans to finalize and I was asked to show some art in the upcoming Quad Cities Gallery Hop at ROZZ-TOX on April 1st! Not to mention baseball season is full swing so the huz will be busy with that and afternoon trips to the park are a must in beautiful weather. It is going to be a crazy few weeks but I am determined to stick to my 365 Make Something challenge. (Before we get to Days 66-68 I wanted mention that I will be posting some paintings here in pre-peration for my art show. I think you will like them, there are a few designs you will recognize but with a new twist. More information on the Gallery Hop art show coming soon!)
Day 66. Day 65. Flower Pendants (stage two!)

So here are the finished polymer clay flower beads. (click here to see them pre-painted & sealed) My favorite out of the 5 is the large one on the bottom left. I like the shape of the flower and the coloring. The others will look nice once added with some beads and chain but I need to get more clay so that all of my background coloring isn’t just brown. I am also going to experiment with more transparency variations in the paint with future beads. What do you think, do you like them? Would you use one? Any I sealed these bad boys above with a high gloss, not sure if I am liking the gloss yet or not.
Day 67. Hammered Mini Tags
I was planning on constructing my “Hello Friends” necklaces all in one night, including hammering the tags BUT when I sat down to start the project I forgot that I had lent my tools to Vintaj for the March Madness workshop. I was able to hammer and paint the tags and also pick out my beads for each creature but that was as far as I could go with no pliers on hand.
Day 68. “Hello Friends” necklaces
OK so after I picked up my tools from the downtown Vintaj Earth Studio I was able to finish my line. I love Humblebeads! Not only is Heather Powers (the artist who handcraftes each bead) one of the nicest people ever, she is an amazing artist and her woodland creature beads are adorable. Heather contacted me awhile back to see if I was interested in trading some of my graphic design skills for her lovely beads… umm yeah! A few clicks later the Art Bead Scene blog had a nice makeover and I had a bag full of Humblebeads goodies. I have been holding onto my stash ever since because I love it all, not just the creatures but the robin’s eggs, flowers and disc beads! I think I have a Humblebeads hoarding habbit! These designs above and their cute creature pendants will look much better worn then sitting in a bin. I am saying goodbye so that others can say “hello” with an adorable Hello Friends Necklace. I am happy to say these will be for sale at the Handmade City Spring event but also a little sad to see them go. Take a look at the pics below and let me know which little guy you love the most. that Mr. Fox is looking pretty fantastic to me!

I love these necklaces! Great Job!
I love the flowers and leaves that you have made out of chocolate clay. They are all unique and wonderful. I usually lean toward green, blue, brown but I could see wearing all of those. Birds are really cute too.
Yeah I love birdies too. I have a bird mold and have made a few of them a couple weeks ago. I also usually lean towards green, it goes with everything.
Love your flowers. Did you make the molds yourself? I’m trying to figure that one out. I made some pendants a few weeks ago but didn’t like how they turned out & finally tossed them all. Hmmm…. you make it all look so easy!
thanks Ashleigh. No I didn’t make these mold myself, these ones are just a generic flower mold I picked up for cheap. I wanted to see if carving out some flower molds would be worth my time and I think I am going to try it. These were pretty easy though, you should try!!
Oh! You are by no means a procrastinator. Look at your goal to make something every single stinkin’ day! You make me laugh and smile at the same time. I love the flowers. That pansy is my fave (that is my favorite flower). And I think that my Humblebeads hoard could rival yours, Miss Noble! I have a habit of buying all her beads in every color I can get my greedy little hands on. They are the best! I love the sweet bird with chirp! Too cute! Thanks for sharing your creative endeavors. Enjoy the day!
Erin
ooo pansies are nice. If only you could see the pile of projects that have been procrastinized (yeah that’s a word). I am laughing thinking of me an you hoarding Humblebeads, I am sure you pile is much nicer than mine. I might have hoarding jealousy now?!
I love it. I also love that it is called “Hello Friends”. Cute!
I know i thought it was cute. I can picture those little guys walking by and saying “hello” as they are on their way to gather nuts or something.
